Ok, pretty much read that entire short story in one shot. I knew it was gonna be dark, but it almost made me cry at times. It was well-worth reading and I’m happy I read this book

Aaand done with the book itself and it was really good! I’m happy with how it ended and where all the characters ended up. This reminded me of Gallant and I enjoyed that one too

Cole reminds me of Noah from The Raven Cycle. I think he’s either dead and a ghost or he’s a physical manifestation of the moor somehow

Something I find interesting with this being Schwab’s first book is how there are like little bits that she reuses in her other books such as the heterochromatic eyes, people described as trees and crooked and such, and even the one kid reminds me of Henry. It’s pretty cool. I’m also liking the story so far…
