I struggle with this hero, he seems like a nice guy but also is so self absorbed and insecure.

Omg listening to the narrator read out several chapters of email exchanges is annoying af. They read the to and from and the subject line over and over. 😵‍💫
I’m sure reading it is fine but listening to it is awful.

I’m bias here but I’m definitely on the side of the ‘nasty reviewer’. 🤣

Could this be a true enemies to lovers?

I somehow doubt a hugely publicized and promoted novel by a major publisher could tank on one single critical review. Most readers of popular fiction don’t read reviews in the New Yorker anyway, they are more likely to buy the book based on where the publisher placed it on the shelf in the bookstore or how catchy the cover looks.
