its interesting to give juliette more of choice here and how that messes her brain, but were missing out on the actual tragedy of r&j where he does kill her cousin and she has to grapple w/ that. sure he’s already been killing her gang but she has too so it doesn’t hit as hard. idk i think maybe gong shouldntve marketed this as an r&j retelling just to force story beats that feel shoehorned in instead of natural

and then again we have the whole stuffing the turkey too much. this book feels like it’s going to explode with all the plot points the authors tried to shove into it. it’s lopsided. it’s not balanced. there’s too much going on, i’ve forgotten the real “plot” of why we’re all back together after the first book anyway. lady you cannot do it all, especially not like this.

you’ve basically overpowered one character and as a result, diminished the capabilities of the character we’re supposed to see as her equal? had roma taken the shot one way or another not only would it have held true to the original r&j story but it also would’ve maybe shown roma having an actual hand in this instead of it all just being on juliette. you’ve created your autonomous character but nerfed her L/I

aH such an odd choice here i cannot wrap my head around? like the author is trying to say juliette is one thing but her actions are way different. shes this public figure with all this power and yet we dont actually see how the public feels about her which i feel like is an important part of curating this narrative? what does having juliette shoot tyler do for the story you’re trying to tell??? i cant understand it
