Protagonist: Susan becomes really sad and depressed and stays in bed all day because she was really sad about Becky's passing. In the text it says "Yesterday was about Becky, I will do it better today" that's what Ada said. So then Ada took care of the household while Susan was recovering.

After Ada leaves the countryside, she is taken by Susan Smith, because her mom knew her and told her to take care of her. Then Susan helps her navigate what Ada should do and to help her with her life. This helps Ada a lot even though she doesn't notice it that much.
