I have been shocked by the intensity of the plot development. From switching between points of view, and how much the character travel, it has been quite humbling to keep up names, faces, places, and developments. One character Elisa, shares her family story by saying, "My grandmother, Angela-Maria di Pietra-Santa, lives at Bocognano" (Neville 291). Talk about a tongue twister of a name, I barely keep them straight.

You have fifteen years, enough time to know that there are more crucial things in life more crucial the the gratification of your immediate wishes" (Neville 17). The blend of history and fable in this book is very interesting and my prediction is that Mireille somehow loses their piece and it ends up in the hands of a young Velis in modern day New York City.
