Finished with Book 4. Honestly a very exciting section, as Henry must figure out a way back to Catherine after desertion from the Italian military, and then the two have to get out of Italy and into Switzerland. I think this is the most I’ve really felt the couple in love, and their journey in this section is so far my favorite part of the story.

Finished with Book 3. I am consistently amazed/bewildered by the experiences of WWI soldiers, who were fighting for mostly no apparent real reason, and just young kids. Fucked up.

Onto Chapter 20 in Book Two. Enjoying the read, and the love story, even if the run on sentences are plentiful. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t.

Starting Ch 10. So far, I’ve enjoyed the story, although Hemingway really has an affinity for run-on sentences. Idk if that’s his general style or this book in particular, or that was just the nature of the game at that point. What I do know is that I would be crucified for said structure by an English professor today.
