I can’t stop wondering about the time this book is set in. I know it’s more fantasy like but it’s fascinating how they talk about god and at the same time there is monsters and beasts. I guess it’s also a contrast between the britons and saxs.

That makes me want to rule out death. But what else could it be? And why do they want to go to the island?
Also the fog that makes people forget. What is it?
Also interesting how they talk about jesus but it’s clearly a world that has so much other things.

I feel warm thanks to the love between Axl and Beatrice. It’s a easy love but warm. I will think about the old woman, the hare and the boatsman and what it could mean. Is it death? Is it death the separates them couples? Or is it something else? They talk about love and bond that is strong enough and that will allow a couple to travel together.

Very melancholy and it gives me a nostalgic feeling. The love between Axl and Beatrice is beautiful. Just one chapter in and I have a good feeling.
