I shouldn't be surprised that someone so fundamentally and blindly politically fanatical wouldn't know the differences between Fascism and Nazism... E.G.: A WWII-era Nazi would NOT refer to himself as a Fascist, Mr. Cline -- those were competing ideologies! But given he's based his entire novel around time travel, you'd think he'd do SOME research.
