"I enjoy standing by the cots of the newborns and thinking about my baby. With such a father it's bound to be beautiful."
Oh my gosh based on what the author has written the girl is delusional that he will be a good father. She is eight months pregnant, in hospital again with malaria and close to dying again. Her wonderful darling husband only steps in at the last minute to provide help when the situation is dire.

Omg, this story is wild. Corinne is about to get malaria AGAIN whilst she is pregnant, people are falling off cliffs and dying, babies are being stillborn and it's a three hour drive through the jungle to the hospital, her husband who cannot count or read is trying to help with the shop Corrine opened but makes things worse, and her husband is JEALOUS! Page after page, there is another issue to work through.

Oh no! The downfall of their relationship from his jealousy is beginning to show, also the cultural differences are popping up. She is expected to work and serve all those that come into her Manyatta. Also being the only one with money and financing her partner which would be challenging for a white woman. He provides in other ways of course but can really start to see the cultures clash.
