Wait now I need to check which edition I have...but based off the first 20 pages I read I would bet it's the first haha

it might be! i did research on this a bit ago bc i bought a reprint a while before on accident, the 1st edition has the raised gold lettering and says The New Star Trek Novel above the title, not the normal Star Trek logo by itself
