i dont get it, this book tries so hard to be dramatic and theatrical and ‘otherworldly’ but it just seems like hocus pocus and this coming from someone who knows ghosts exist

i felt like the old lady dying in room 5 has something to do with her
theres also the prologue and the mystery about dominic
their past lives together
her brother hasnt offered any info on the widows cottage
a whole lot of mysteries to round up and reveal in a few chapters
this book is not yet over but im so unsatisfied

the only thing i could possibly see happening at this point is if the daughter finds out her son has cancer
like there is nothing happening in the book. it reads like it could be page 30 or page 150. there is no difference. no progress, no climax, nothing

almost to the end of this book and i do not see where its going, i have no idea what to expect, its reading so normal.. nothings even happening, no conflict, no resolution, nothing

wonder when she'll see his tattoos to see if she was dreaming before or not. i dont think his tattoos really change, because this book just seems like a psychological thriller more than a real horror. but whatever

Either she fell asleep and was already dreaming, or that really happened, and he read her mind and replied to her in his sleep.

although gil didn’t directly mention not talking about alice and her abilities to anyone, she should have kept this to herself because beth like everyone in a small town probably has a big mouth and words going to get around
