Hmmm, well I really enjoy the breaking into of song and absurd German engineer poem jokes. The zone is a troubled and entertaining place, but characters are all memorable. I miss pirate and Jessica and pointsmen and the late Spectro et.al. Continued stunning paragraphs about living under gravity’s rainbow, the nature of fate and how difficult cultures deal with war (from a biased perspective of cause.

Interesting depiction of Närrisch’s potential death, quite a rapid action filled section here. There is strong forward momentum and I’m really keen to push through with this book now!

Part 1 complete, some stunning, deeply confusing passages. Many fantastic descriptions of the “system”, and general depiction of the extreme gloom and doom of characters. The kersocha kid and following sections as well as the nighttime walk dissolution of all warned out sleepy people was truely the most challenging passages I’ve read, but the candy section make up for it a good bit of light hearted fun!
