This protagonist is absolutely AWFUL. INSUFFERABLE. ABUSIVE. SELFISH. CRUEL. She deserves anything bad that happens to her.

Also, clearly Katherine Arden is/was a one-note author -- just like in "The Bear & The Nightingale" the female protagonist is an INSANE Mary Sue and all the men are either weak/passive or evil.
