That feeling you get when you finish a phenomenal book and you sit there wondering how you will ever start another book because you know it won't compare...
Yep. That's where I'm at right now.

Thanks, ladies! This is when I usually call on something that isn't "too deep" to read. Harlequin smut - here I come! :) xoxo
I recently read 'The Hate U Give' and it was so amazing and I finished it in two days (I STARTED IT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY EXAMS. WORST MISTAKE EVER!!) and I can't bring myself to enjoy any other book right now.
Angela M wrote: "I'd love to know what book it was"It was 'Tailspin', by Jaimie Roberts.
I was provided an ARC and I started it last night. It was so much better than I could have imagined. (And, I'm not one of these people that rates every ARC as a 5-star. You can check out my ARC shelf if you'd like a comparison.) Every time that I thought I knew where the story was headed, it threw me for a loop.
It had 3 distinct vibes that I picked up on where there was kind of a big "shift" in the mood and direction. It was humorous and started off like a romantic comedy, then turned sweet, then took on a more serious and dark tone. I was absolutely blown away with the shocking twist(s) at the end. I NEVER saw it coming.
That being said, I love dark, controversial books. Anti-heroes are my favorites. This is a book that will ruffle many feathers and a lot of readers will hate. Personally, I Loved it! :)
Daniel wrote: "This how I felt after finishing Anne Frank's diary."Oh, yes. That was a great one also. A totally different type of story though. Glad I'm not the only one. :)

Perfect description! And you never know when that feeling will hit - with each book there is fresh hope :)
I hate it when this happens, it makes me feel like there's no reason for me to start another book. So I usually find solace rereading some scenes from my other favorite books, reliving the emotions, but nothing new. (It's my coping mechanism to restore my reading mojo).

Thanks, ladies! It is kind of a bittersweet feeling, those pesky book hangovers. :) xoxo

The other thing I do is read books that are on my TBR...but that I'm not overly enthused about. I guess I think I won't unintentionally ruin one of my highly anticipated reads that way. I need time to decompress after one spectacular book before jumping into the next one. :) xoxo

I had that feeling after finishing Empire of Storms. By then my eyes were red due to the heavy amount of crying I did...

LOL. So true, Irene. Far better than the alternative, for sure. :) xoxo
