The Bicentennial Man (1976)
This kind of story doesn’t really work on me unless it’s fantasy. The Wild Robot was an excellent movie and I choose to believe that that story is grounded in a fantastical work where a robot truly can learn to love and become a living thing.
This is not that kind of story. Life and consciousness cannot be imbued into a piece of machinery, no matter how convincingly it behaves.
