It’s awesome to hear about her activism, arrests, and involvement in protests. It’s probably extra important for people like me who are coming up in similar roles to her.

The book is certainly growing on me. With the incoming results about soil carbon, stories of failed grants, battles with standard practice logging, and science conference - this is an awesome book for me. It is especially good since I am driving around today in the farmland.

It’s not much about the forest breathing so far, but it does feel like a pretty classic scientist book intertwining life that unfolded alongside the research project.

It is interesting thinking about how Canada has native tree forests and they still are huge fire and ecological risks because of the monoculture systems.

It’s really cute that her daughters both went into forestry.
