"Do you hand and heart tremble? Upon you the promise smiles. 'To this man will I look,' says God, 'even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My word' (Isa. 66:2)." - Bunyan

“Jesus Christ would have mercy offered, in the first place, to the biggest sinners to stir up others to come to Him for life. This is not the manner of men … But David saw this quickly; therefore he makes this one argument with God, that he would blot out his transgressions, that he would forgive his adultery, murders, and horrible hypocrisy. Do it, O Lord, and ‘then will I teach transgressors thy ways.’”

“What an amazing wonder it is to think that, above all the world, and above everybody in it, these (those in Jerusalem who crucified Him) should have the first offer of mercy! ‘Beginning at Jerusalem.’” - Bunyan
