I know this has been compared to Sorrow and Bliss - which was always going to be a rough comparison because that’s one of my favourite books.

I love the literary style where the author intersperses small moments and stories to build character - for me this book just isn’t quite hitting the mark on this style. The inserted asides - although they provide insight - feel a bit random / jarring
