You ever think that opening part where the girl is talking to the Thalidomide Kid is Cormac McCarthy knowing that he's about to go and so this is him negotiating with his own death?

Choosing to read a lot of this book as a meditation on impending death. It's interesting, too, because the book is a lot "lighter" than his other stuff. Makes you think.

We'll see how it holds up in the long-term. Never finished.
