I love SEP writing, her complex character, dialogue and such,but the tone and tropes are outdated! 😖Let the FMC rage for being betrayed don’t force her into forgiveness with the ex and his new partner! It is not empowering! 😖

Guess what, by the end the narrative will gaslight you into the whole spiel of🍑 hole of ex husband was not that bad… Because Bissa (the OW) basically solves everything &says something like:

Pranzino break… 🥂🍷🍕🍝so at 88 percent FMC Dancy is yet again “slapped”, now with a blackmail from the cheating ex husband (he makes a fake sex tape of Dancy)… and she ends up stopping MMC klint from punching her ex and not telling him the whole story 🤦🏻♀️

And now the 🍑 hole accuses her of planning the sex scene because she wants a child very much! Like she intentionally charmed the poor innocent him (grown 🍑 man child) so he forgot about protection! 😤

At 72% they finally have sex (fmc and the mmc -her childhood boyfriend) then she runs away, the mmc is “rightfully” angry while the fmc was not given the same grace during the entire narrative… wth!? You would expect this in novels from 80s- early 00s but now, no way! Some of her older books feel better than whatever this is…

I was the first to finish the tour so I plopped my 🍑 for a refreshment and to update this! At 70% the romance has not progressed but the fmc is yet again served a bad one! The narrative slaps her again , her ex has used and betrayed her again! 🤦🏻♀️😡

Hi Niki! 🤗Not this one dor sure… 🫣I would say “When stars collide” and “Natural born charmer” are books that worked for me (they can be read as standalone IMO)
