“‘Sophie’ said Martha, ‘The spells off you! Did you hear?’

But Sophie and Howl were holding one another’s hands and smiling and smiling, quite unable to stop.”

This scene is so good. The chatting all around them but they don’t hear it because they’re focused on each other…. OHHHHHHH MY CHEST HURTS.

“I’ve never seen why people put such value on things being natural, Howl said’ and Sophie knew then that he was scarcely changed at all”

Wait bars

“The heart went in. As soon as it has disappeared, Howl stirred about. He gave a loud groan and rolled over onto his face. ‘Hells teeth!’ He said. ‘I’ve got a hangover!’

‘No, you hit your head on the floor, Sophie said’

“She stared at Calcifer in a vague, frowning way, as if she was not sure what she was seeing, and Calcifer simple stared back without saying a word”

I’m imagining his face and it genuinely made me laugh out loud
