Ace Queen’s Reviews > Heaven Official's Blessing: Tian Guan Ci Fu (Novel) Vol. 3 > Status Update

having an entire book's worth of the past arc and then dropping us right back at the cliffhanger from the present in volume 2 is the most diabolical shit
This is truly a great story that they ruined a good amount by adding in that arc in the middle like this I'm so mad.

It's like having someone tell you a story and in the middle of the story they introduce themselves and give you their life story as context

Don't get me wrong Xie Lian's past is interesting but it feels so lore dumpy. To go from current Xie Lian at a cliffhanger to a whole arc of his past lowkey pissing me off 😭 it's dragging at this point I want to be back in the present. Xie Lian's past and the fall of the kingdom of Xianle should've been told chronologically or layered, the current order the author chose ruined the whole flow of the story.
