In her *second* essay about water management, she mentions the “transparent sexual overtones” of the Hoover Dam. Unfortunately she did not elaborate further. Maybe it is expected that the reader would have already recognized this quality inherent to dams. Maybe I’ll only know when I see it. Or maybe her ghost writer is a beaver.
