A really suspenseful read. I’d love to have enough money to partake in baccarat one day, but I’ll stick to blackjack for the moment.

Some really interesting visual imagery going on here, a lot to do with black ribbons, and straw. Fleming writes suspense very well. Lots of dialogue and not enough action for my expectations re: A Bond novel.

Been a busy few days but I’m back. As for chapter 2, I’m a fan of the way Fleming is revealing information via experimental means (here via a dossier) as opposed to a typical narrative voice. Love the adaptations, so I’m excited to speed through this.
