the plot/mystery is keeping me on my toes but also giving me whiplash with how many times the mcs feel like they have been betrayed only to then act like a couple in love. can someone ask the right questions once and for all ffs

I thought this was gonna be my favourite in the series but now half way through I think it’s not going to be the case. the writing is okay, alistair is fucking unhinged (which is fun) but I feel like cora’s character is not well rounded. the office romance is cool but it lacks pizzazz for my liking. the story feels patched and fragmented without a linear plot and progression compared to the other books
