“Again, that no will is free which has not been made so by divine grace. Again, that the righteousness of God is not fulfilled when the law orders, and man acts, as it were, by his own strength, but when the Spirit assists, and the will (not the free will of man, but the will freed by God) obeys.”

I have returned to this lofty reading goal only to be met with an intense discussion of free will… Fun times!

Finished the first book!! (Of four) Absolutely loved the last few chapters about God’s sovereignty. I look forward to coming back the parts in which Calvin discusses God’s Sovereignty and Righteousness in relation to evil!

This knowledge is necessarily followed by gratitude in prosperity, patience in adversity, and incredible security for the time to come.”
Of course the sections on God’s sovereignty is impacting my Presbyterian heart the most

Really enjoying this section on the sovereignty of God over creation!

The goal is to finish the first book by the end of the year 😅😅
