i was surprised that this seemingly innocuous textbook opens with what is essentially a positionality statement (?!) that aligns it firmly with reception theory and postmodernism. then was again surprised that the word homosexuality is placed in quotations…. brother i know this was published in 04 but gay people are real. what

update on whitmarshe’s stylistic choices: the word heterosexual was also used in quotations but the phrase “hooking up” was used completely straight-faced, no quotation marks necessary. like… what is the range of ur vocabulary…
