Brady Rivette’s Reviews > Salt to the Sea > Status Update

Most of the people in the group our now registered and I keep imagining what it would feel like to be in a situation where there are millions of people who are in one port who most are on the brink of dying. That is just a lot to handle and it would be hard for me.

Joana is currently going to be used as a nurse and Florian told Joana his name and it was cute. I can’t wait to see them develop even more and also the main characters have been connected to Alfred and its nice.

I love that I can tell the difference in personalities between each main character and I honestly don’t like Alfred. Some of the stuff he says is weird like one time he says, “How inconvenient for women to become pregnant during a war. unite thoughtless of them.” This line really shows his personality and specifically how women were treated at the time.

They were at a stop where they checked Florian’s papers and he was given praise for what was on it and as this happened they got bombed so Florian got split up with everyone else.

Right now in my book they have run into more people evacuating and they are about to get to a checkpoint but one of the people with them doesn’t have her papers so she would not be able to pass. Even if she did have her papers she would be marked as Polish so she would end up being taken by the German soldiers and killed.

I love Florian’s character arc in this story and I relate to him in a sense and I love the relationship that him and Joana are building because it’s really cute and I like it a lot. Also I just figured out that the Polish girl Emilia is 8 months pregnant and it happened with a father’s friend. Im excited to keep reading.

The way they are depicting everyone in this book is great. I just got to a point where The polish girl Emilia shot a German soldier that snuck up on Florian and the way that the author shows emotion through all the characters is amazing.

They just found a house that they can stay in and I can’t wait to read more

I love the writing format for this book and I can’t wait to see where this book goes.
