Jess Resor’s Reviews > The Hidden Language of Cats: How They Have Us at Meow > Status Update

“The owners of Siamese cats rated both their cats and themselves similarly for the qualities of clever, emotional, & friendly…. Either owners see their pets as they see themselves or owners choose pets they think are similar to themselves.”

So many good nuggets in this. Cats really have us trained.

- humans are better than random at understanding cats’ needs from meows but it may also be meow + a visual
- cats use the silent meow to be really persuasive with eye contact
- cats know when their owners are talking to them vs talking to other humans
