I feel enormous pressure to like this book mostly from me telling myself I should be super into it so I'm scared to read it, but I'm liking it so far so I dunno what my problem is. an author not being scared to discuss eugenics has worked well in fantasy for me so far, including asoiaf and Abraham's The Dragon's Path, though someone will have to convince me this is fantasy lol it feels strictly scifi
