Can’t even lie—
The odd, fairytale-ish things randomly happening has got me. I’m hooked.
“The face of his watch was filled with water”
After he had a dream in an underwater crypt.
Like it just keeps you intrigued and guessing 😁

The chapters start with quotes from authors within the book’s world but I’m NOT one for poetry and most go over my head. But this last one I loved and understood, and then realized it is part of the song Rhia wrote!! And I was like awwww. I quite like Rhia and wow her song is beautiful.

The amount these two are both suffering… I want to cry. Or maybe rage at the unfairness idk.

That man did NOT just say that.
THE SEXISM.
I thought I might explode. I want to throw some punches myself.
Preston got in a fight with the petty, infuriating blonde kid, and the employee who broke them up said to Effy
“Perhaps you shouldn’t dress like this. What do you expect to red blooded males to do? I’ve half of mine to report you too.”
EXCUSE ME????? Abso-fucking-lutely NOT.

I imagine some people think they, especially Effy, are annoying. But I think they are just so utterly human.
And I don’t feel like I read such flawed, odd, struggling-in-daily-life people, and I can respect that choice.
In the first book, I really just chose to ignore what was not so great and I was able to still enjoy it lol.
I kinda wish they were going back to Hiraeth tho. I love the architecture concept.
