I consider myself “well read,” but I still suffer from grammar and style deficiencies.
This is one of a handful of grammar and usage books I’ve read recently — and by far it’s the corniest of the bunch.
Yet Hale’s simple interventions are quite useful. (Even if her examples should be obvious to me, often they are not. So it’s a worthy read.)
