This book is so dear to me. As I read a second time, I remember, but not before, just when I read it. And it is still fresh. Her sense of humor and adventure are pitch perfect. I am now crossing the inhospitable and unknown Wakhan region. Jean was the first woman to cross those territories, and one of the few persons at the time to have done that as well. (It was difficult to get permit to cross)

I love Jen Shor's humor, and the whole book. Such a gem. Jen and Franc replicating Marco Polo's travels and meeting peculiar people and places, so fascinating!
