i don't know if it's because this book was published five years ago or because the author doesn't really know how teenagers talk, but the dialogue in this is...kinda makes me cringe sometimes. seriously, i don't know ANYONE who says "awesome sauce" seriously

1. this book is sort of giving me not your sidekick vibes (main character is both half chinese + the middle child in a super-powered family, but she isn't as powerful as they are and feels left out because of this), but afaik natalie's straight
