Occultation - 7/10: This one really is a mood and vibe piece. I enjoy how it feels like one couple’s drug trip gone wrong. Barron does a great job writing romantic couples past a honeymoon stage.
The Lagerstätte - 8/10: This collection feels a lot more wistful and grief-filled than the first. This story might be the most emotionally compelling of any.

The Forest: 9/10 - Looking forward to diving into Barron’s second story collection, it starts strong with The Forest, a story of grief, acceptance, the death of the sun, and bugs. Haunting and very beautiful, if a bit too short. But that final page is a killer.
