finished the 2nd essay (Si Amang) and would say a redemption story; it has a great material and was written cohesively. love that the story starts with a vivid memory of pangangapa; ang gandang materyal to introduce someone. love the description of pangangapa and how it works, and how soliman connects it to his father’s life and memory. a good read essay overall.

just finished the first essay (Patining) and to be honest, it needs a major edit. i’m expecting it would be smooth read or it’ll flow just like water but the opposite; daming awkward pauses and cuts. daming repetitive sentences that have the same idea/thoughts. the last part was rushed and was not fleshed out. this specific essay has potential definitely but it’s boring and forgettable for me, sorry 😢
