I am loving the coming of age aspect of this story! I don't know if Szabó meant for this book to have a humorous tone but I find the book hilarious 😆Gina's judgement towards her naive classmates is just cracking me up haha

I caved in… I knew I wanted to read another Magda Szabó before the end of the year but I truly missed her so much. I couldn’t help it. I read the first few pages and I immediately felt all the emotions for Budapest again.
I fear Szabó may become a new favorite author of all time 🥹
