I appreciate her spelling out the conceptual differences between a gift economy and a commodity economy.

I enjoyed the lessons about expressing gratitude for gifts (rather than considering them ecosystem services, etc), and about the cycles that bring them to us (carbon cycling from the atmosphere to the berry and onward). Im nervous that if love is the source of the human gift economy, we may not have enough of it. People are very bitter towards each other in society.

Already feeling like I’ll want to re-read this once I finish to make sure I’ve picked up all the lessons 😊
