Well I'm enjoying this. But I suspect it has problems in re: specific juvenile audience. We've got 92 year old Alice and her elderly female friends in Whitby, and foster kids Jennet (11ish?) and her I-Can-See-Dead-People (and The Fisher Folk) brother Ben (8). Baddie is a witchy woman in her 50s, and there's a lot of spinster and widowy lifestyle content (a former husband's old diary; goofy cat lady; seances, etc.).

I just wanna hop on the train to Whitby tomorrow instead of going to work. Best set-in-Whitby story I've read so far. Enjoying the pacing as well.

Ah this was one of my childhood favourites! There's some great stuff in this series (and as ever with older books- some really not great stuff) but hope you enjoy!
