I must say, so far, I like the movie better. There's no emotional connection to the narrator, and this is very much a plot-driven story, whereas I prefer character-driven. However, this was revolutionary for it's time so I'm keeping that in mind

For it's time, the special affects are great and the sense of dread is amazing! The acting is also very good, though there are a few disturbing scenes off-screen (the most being a tentacle coming down from one of the tripods and, off screen, sticking into a man, and you see blood stream up the tube. But that's it)
Surprisingly I love alien movies 😂 such as the Tomorrow War and Live Die Repeat. I’d probably love it
I love the Tomorrow War!! Have you seen Independence Day, Signs, or A Quiet Place? Those are all alien movies and I love them all so muchOoh I'll have to watch Live Die Repeat

Apocalyptic movies are my favorite!!! Like I Am Legend is one of my absolute favorites!

H.G. Wells books are so interesting in concept and such a letdown in execution for me as a reader (though, granted, I've only read two of them :-p)

I love the concept but it feels very tell-y, but very little showing. I think that's where the movie trumps the book for me, at least so far
I've been meaning to read this, it sounds interesting!

Yes, agreed! Both of the ones I've started were intriguing at the start, but then they turned rather dull and dry and were a chore for me to get through, sadly.
