Yes, the book has its flaws. The forced romances, the unrealistic action sequences, the obvious PC message. But damn, that trial near the end. Is. So. Good. Normally, I'd say any good vs evil battle is too cheesy for me. But being able to read about the trial is so satisfying. It's the perfect conclusion for the trilogy. And for Salander. I think this series is perfectly wrapped up here.

What are the odds of a journalist barehandedly handling an assassination by an armed mafia with a submachine gun and went away with just a broken finger and some bruises? I'd say it's the same as someone being shot in the head and still survive, and fully recover. Ha!

The book was going so well.... until the action sequence. Action sequences really are the weakness of this series.

Erika Berger's story might even be more interesting and thematic than Salander's

I think the pacing has been picked up nicely. But it still annoys me that there are so many POV characters and they switch constantly.

Yes I understand that this book is not only about Salander but also for women and the fight for their roles in society, but the book can sound a bit preachy at times about this.

One thing I dislike is that while the book keeps introducing new characters, those new people then finding out about OLD information(that the readers already know). Yes there are new information along the way but I feel that this book is written to be dragged out.

Also, there seems to be no mysteries here. The book observes a genre shift into a type of legal battle slash procedural crime thriller. I was thinking I would not enjoy this, but maybe I was wrong. The conflict of state secret vs individual right makes it interesting; and topic of the role of women is society is constantly mentioned in the book (albeit sometime about too obviously)

I realised that while the prose in this book is very easy to read, the growing cast of characters (counting the one from the previous book) makes it very hard to mentally keep track of who's who. New names are constantly thrown in the mix (even real-life people's name).

at least, not yet. Millenium series without a mystery is just.... boring
