The ceiling cut like a loaf of bread… wow. I wasn’t expecting simile like this to describe a skyscraper, with a mixture of mysticism, theology and brutalist imagery, a clownish narrative perspective as a window cleaner observes office workers. It’s hard to believe this was first written in 1959!
