“As I drift off, I try to imagine that world, somewhere in the future, with no Games, no
Capitol. A place like the meadow in the song I sang to Rue as she died. Where Peeta's child
could be safe.” I am crying okay mind your business

Whenever I start to reread Catching Fire, I am always thinking of how long it takes to get to the actual Quarter Quell section of the book. But once I start reading, I remember how much I love reading Katniss’s inner monologue and all her thoughts about rebellion. Also her sardonic humor about the state of things. What a queen

Katniss is a character that’s always resonated deeply with me but in my old age I am realizing that I would have instantly picked Peeta over Gale because my taste in men is exclusively blonde now (Joe Burrow, Chris Briney, Rudy Pankow, Koe Alwyn, etc etc)
