As a longtime Phantom fan, I love the added depth, but I loathe Erik. I can’t tell if that means I dislike the story or just the characters. Seeing Christine through grief, limited education, and deep Catholic upbringing finally makes her choices make sense. The Phantom’s act isn’t supernatural, it’s exploiting her vulnerability. I’m still unsure whether this is a flawed story or one with flawed characters
