I don’t think this book is meant to be one that pushes you to shed tears. Despite this the loss of lettuce has brought me to feel great sadness even though he was introduced to have passed early in the book. Hearing the account of his loss but also hearing the main character express how selfless his mother was also caused me to cry. I love this book all to much so far.
