It’s hard to adequately describe how the text portrays the ruin of Hiroshima. The best way I can put it into words is by calling it blunt, but in a heavy, contemplative way. The descriptions are simple, aiming to put the reader in the shoes of the citizens as they watch the tragedy unfold and grow numb to the surrounding destruction.
