The analysis of the many men throughout both recent American history, as well as before that, and their obsession with the wild intrigue me.

Many fall victim to that call, I find that hiking and rock climbing both leave me searching for connection with nature itself rather than people at times. The extremist desires of these men, however, exude disregard for their lives and loved one’s through that inherent harm.

This book has been calling out to me the past two weeks or so, and after spending some time reading it I have an understanding as to why. I originally skimmed Into The Wild in eleventh grade, but I didn’t spend the time trying to understand what it was trying to say, I just wasn’t interested and things seemed so simple then.

I will absolutely have more to say about the themes, the tones, juxtapositions; soon!
