Book IV: Menelaus wrestles with sea god Proteus (super fascinating) - similar themes to other Greek myths: shapeshifting and animals of the gods. Proteus's seals remind me of Helios' cattle and Polyphemus's sheep. Also, I recently learned on The Rest is History that some believed Helen never went to Troy, but was captured in Egypt. References to Egypt in Book IV lend to the speculation. This was Herodotus's view.
