This is obviously incredibly sad for a large number of reasons, but it is so despicable to see how people changed the story about Howard to feel better about the neglect they were imposing on him.

To have the doctor admit in his early notes that Howard was a lovely kid with nothing wrong, to then say he was teasing, schizophrenic, and scary just so the parents wouldn’t have to take care of him is disgusting.
