I’m not sure how I feel about this book. It’s kind of stream-of-conscious in that it’s jumping back and forth between “present day” and memories of the past, which I don’t really love. Also, it has no chapters and tends to have extremely long paragraphs. All of this has the effect of being tiresome. I’m not writing it off entirely—there have been some quotes I’ve saved—but it does make me anxious.

I’m… really not sure I’m into this book. There’s still a chance my mind could change, so I’m not making any final judgments, but right now I’m not totally connecting with it. I’d like to be: people I respect speak highly of it and I’d love to see it the way they’re seeing it. It might still click for me yet. I’ll stay on the lookout.
